Our school trip to Singapore – Day Two
I'm Mizue Sakai. I'm going to tell you about our second day in Singapore.
From 8:15 to 8:25, we had a morning assembly. After the teacher's address, all students read local English newspapers. As I couldn't read English well yet, I read my own story book. Since I wasn't use to sitting directly on the ground, I had a little pain in my legs. If you were late for school, you had to stand at the back.
From 10:45 to 12:30, we were divided into 4 groups and started painting 9 tiles. When we had finished painting the tiles, we combined them to make one picture. Before we started painting, we decided the theme of the picture should be 'nature'. The reason why we chose this is because both of our countries have plenty of nature.
While doing the painting, it was rather easy to correct mistakes. The only thing you needed to do was just wipe the paint with tissues if you made a mistake! During this activity, everybody got on very well.
From 15:30 to 17:00 we went to Little India for shopping. We looked around many different kinds of shops. I bought some key chains as souvenirs for my friends, also friends told me about good local sweets. Of course, I got them for my family. It was fun to visit so many different shops.
It was a fun day!
